What is that noise?
David and I spent last night in our new house (!!)--it's still in DC, but it's a bit removed from the downtown neighborhood where we used to live.
We could hear crickets and the wind moving through the trees. It was a breezy evening, and at some point in the middle of the night David woke me up to ask if it was raining in our open windows. Confused, half-asleep and nervous that we couldn't reach all the open windows (due to the boxes of crap) if it was raining, I put on my glasses and looked outside.
Not raining--just the sound of the fallen brittle leaves being blown down our alley.
It feels like we are living in a different city.
